The TSR Team

The people behind the judgment

BUILT FROM REAL-WORLD SOLAR EXPERIENCE

Experienced judgment. Independent perspective.

TSR was founded on a simple premise: solar assets need to perform in the real world, not just on paper.

Models, drawings, schedules, reports, and forecasts all matter. But they do not always reveal how equipment choices, construction practices, site conditions, commissioning gaps, or handoff decisions will affect an asset once it is built, energized, operated, maintained, or acquired.

Our team brings decades of experience constructing, inspecting, maintaining, troubleshooting, and remediating solar assets. That experience helps us distinguish routine conditions from larger patterns and connect technical findings to performance, cost, risk, warranty position, operating burden, and long-term value.

TSR is not another reporting layer. We help clients understand what matters, what it means, and what should happen next while options remain open.

Founder & Principal

Doug Claxton

Doug founded TSR Energy to give owners, investors, developers, and asset managers an independent view of what is actually happening across their solar assets.

His perspective is grounded in nearly two decades of experience across solar design, construction, service, maintenance, troubleshooting, remediation, and project execution. Before founding TSR, Doug co-founded and helped lead The Solar Revolution and began his solar career supporting technical sales, system design, and early-stage project development at Lighthouse Solar.

Doug’s work centers on helping clients see where technical conditions, construction practices, equipment choices, documentation gaps, or operating issues may affect asset quality, performance, cost, risk, or long-term value.

He believes technical work should do more than identify findings. It should help clients understand what deserves attention and what decision those findings should influence.

Head of Operations & Asset Management

Mike Baker

Mike leads operations and asset management at TSR Energy, building the systems and standards that turn technical awareness into actionable insight for clients.

His background spans nearly a decade of hands-on technical and operational work. He has managed projects and coordinated technical work for an environmental consulting firm, progressed from apprentice to master electrician, and worked in solar field operations alongside Doug at The Solar Revolution.

At TSR, Mike oversees the systems, standards, and account coordination behind each engagement. His work helps ensure that technical findings are organized, communicated clearly, and carried through to the people responsible for asset performance and business decisions.

Mike believes technical insight only matters when clients can use it. Strong operations connect field reality to clear decisions, reliable execution, and better long-term asset performance.

Director of Quality Assurance

Alan Courtemanche

Alan helps clients identify design, installation, and equipment risks before they become safety issues, operating problems, or costly corrective work.

His background spans more than 45 years in the electrical industry across oil and gas, data centers, battery storage, high-rise construction, hospitals, airports, industrial facilities, code enforcement, and solar. Before joining TSR, Alan spent nearly nine years in quality assurance at Standard Solar, progressing from field inspection to quality assurance management.

At TSR, Alan leads field quality assurance and works with developers, contractors, designers, manufacturers, owners, and financiers across rooftop, canopy, tracker, fixed-tilt, floating, and other solar systems. He helps improve equipment design, installation practices, quality-control processes, and project specifications.

Alan believes field experience should lead to more resilient systems, fewer nonconformance issues, and lower ownership risk. He is a licensed electrician, a NABCEP-certified PV Installation Professional and PV System Inspector, and has contributed to industry work with Lawrence Berkeley National Laboratory and NREL.

director of Growth

Dave Levine

Dave helps clients see what matters, what it means, and what should happen next.

His background spans strategy, executive advising, communications, business development, and organizational growth. For more than two decades, he has helped leaders clarify complex problems, make better decisions, and build the relationships and systems needed to move important work forward.

At TSR, Dave works across client development, strategic partnerships, and company direction. He connects TSR’s technical expertise to the priorities of owners, investors, developers, and asset managers, helping identify where TSR can contribute to stronger projects, better-performing assets, and a more resilient solar energy future.
